Invisalign clear aligners benefit teens and adults who want straighter, healthier smiles but wish to avoid metal braces. Here at White Flint Dental Associates in Rockville, MD, Dr. H. David Allick qualifies patients for the treatment and guides them through their customized Invisalign plans. Read on to learn what this treatment can do for you!
Why straighten your smile with Invisalign?
Orthodontic correction helps children, teens, and adults improve their self-confidence and avoid the decay/gum disease that often accompanies crooked teeth. Unfortunately, teens and adults are sometimes hesitant to adopt the look of traditional metal braces, and then avoid recommended orthodontic treatment as a result.
Fortunately, Invisalign clear aligners from our Rockville office are here as a solution! Made of BPA-free, Smart Track acrylic, these thin aligners are practically invisible and can be used to optimize smile alignment, oral function, and personal appearance.
The aligners are smooth and easy to maintain. Custom-made according to your unique smile and desired outcomes, Invisalign aligners reposition teeth in just about a year. Plus, because the 18 to 30 aligner pairs are fully removable, you take them out to eat, floss, and brush.
Getting started with Invisalign
It begins with a consultation here at our Rockville office. During this time, Dr. Allick will perform a complete examination, scan your teeth/bone structure with 3D imaging equipment, and show you how Invisalign can correct your smile issues. If qualified for treatment, oral impressions will be taken and sent to an Invisalign lab where your new aligners will be made.
As you progress through your care plan, you'll wear each pair for 20-to-22 hours a day, checking in with Dr. Allick every month or so. During treatment, you will eat whatever you like, brush and floss as usual, and maintain your appliances with toothpaste, clear water, and a soft brush.
When you complete your treatment plan, your smile issues will be resolved. That means no more:
- Bite problems (overbite, underbite, openbite, crossbite, as examples)
- Buck teeth
- Tooth tipping or rotation
